One of the Wray Families
most favorite places to go is Palm Springs. We normally go every three weeks or so during the summer but
since we went to Cancun and got Obi we only planned on one trip this summer. The kids counted the days and we got
the car packed and everyone was so excited. (I think that I may have been the most excited) After a quick 2 hour drive we went to
check in and found out that there was issues with our reservation and we did
not have one. Yes, I was
furious. After about one hour of
figuring out what to do we got it worked out and off to the pool we went. After a few hours of swimming we headed
back for dinner and the smell of smoke was very strong. I knew that there had been a wild fire
far out of the valley but thought it had been contained. Well through the evening the smoke got
much worse and ashes were falling everywhere. Come to find out a new wild fire
had developed that afternoon and was much closer and the wind was blowing
towards us. The next morning we
heard that it was not recommended to be out in the valley so we checked out the
pool for a bit and the smell wasn’t to bad. At 10 am the resort decided that they were not going to open
the water slide because they did not want one of their employees out breathing
the air. So at that point we
packed up our crying kids to head home to San Diego. To make matters worse we ended up having car troubles the
entire way home. Palm Springs was
a bust this year. Until next
summer and we will try it again.
